This works just as expected. But, wanting to reduce the cord length, I opened the box and there's absolutely NOTHING in it, the wire just goes straight thru. I guess that's how they justify the $20 price. I just got rid of the bulky box.

Typical Made in China bulls***. The "control box" is empty, not even a fuse or resistor. Why put this huge plastic appendage in the middle of the wire for no reason? At least the wire connections were correct.
