this juicer annihilates oranges, grapefruits and does a fairly good job with pomegranates too...
It is also extremely easy to wash (only a cup and cone). i have tried 4 juicers in the past 4 years. This is the best one and a keeper. It was also the most expensive one of the ones i have tried

2 issues you should consider:

1) be extremely careful. the handle can drop if u don't put it up properly. if one hand is pulling up the handle and the other removing/replacing your halfed fruit, and u loose the handle, the hand handling the fruit could get hurt, perhaps seriously. At least it looks that way because the handle is heavy. Do not let any kids ever operate this, IT IS NOT SUPER SAFE. Thankfully, there has been no accidents at my house, just fast juicing. Please realize that the heaviness of the handle and the rest of the juicer is why it also works so well.

2) on a much minor point, the secondary cone does not lock into place with the bottom cup, this can be a little annoying

This product is great and I highly recommend it! It is heavy duty, does a great job, and does it quickly. This product is mechanical and not electrical and because of this I think it is one of those cool products that should last a lifetime, which I think is great especially if it can be worked into your (family) traditions; kids / grandkids / everyone will get a kick out pressing fruit to make fresh juice.

I read some other comments about this product which complained about poor quality and the product being too heavy... For me, I have not experienced these issues; the product is precision machined and heavy duty; if someone had quality issue I can't imagine why unless the product was defective from the factory. The product is heavy (but not as heavy as a Kitchaide mixer), but needs to be heavy (it produces like 2000 pounds of pressing power on the fruit), and though heavy, it's still easy enough to move around; I'm a guy, so maybe it's more cumbersome for a woman, though I did have my mother lift it up and she didn't slip a disc doing it! The product takes some getting use to, like any product, to figure out how best to use it in terms of placement, where to hold your hands etc.

Another KEY benefit to this juicer is the speed and ease to squeeze/press fruit/oranges. It takes just a few seconds to press the juice out of an orange, whereas, when I used an electric Cuisinart spinning juicer it seemed to take forever to juice an orange. With the Jupiter juicer I could make two large glasses of juice in about a minute, whereas the electric spinning juicer took about 10 minutes -- it was very unenjoyable and loud!

I previously bought a $30 electric spinning Cuisinart juicer from a grocery store...it was a piece of junk! You get what you pay for! It was made of plastic, and broke because the product couldn't handle pressing fruit/oranges down on top of it to juice the orange. The motor became very loud, and stopped alternating its spinning direction (which was a supposed benefit of the product). Also, as mentioned above, it took forever to produce a full glass of juice.

Buy the Jupiter Juice press, you will love it!!! I love mechanical products, I have a really cool wine opener (not sure of the make--it says "Estate" on it) that is similar in size and weight and opens a bottle of wine with a single downward pull of the handle...it also re-corks bottles of wine. This wine opener and the juicer are my favorite kitchen toys and I expect to have them for a very long time.

I bought a similar press from Taiwan and I was really excited about it, but the 1st orange I squeezed the press fell apart. That was a year ago, since then I have been looking for an orange press that can squeeze Texas oranges... Finally found it! The Jupiter press is SOLID STEEL. No plastic no rubber pieces just pure metal. It is strong and squeezed the heck out of the oranges I threw into it. Cleaning is easy, just twist the orange holder, remove it and rise under the tap. The suction cups under the base works really well, it sticks solid to my granite counter top. I LOVE THIS PRESS!
